Last week, Jada and I flew to Houston to surprise my mom for her 50th birthday! Well, it was a surprise until about 4 hours before we landed in Houston. At the airport, I got moved up to the seats with the extra legroom. I texted who I thought was Matt (in my 3:00AM drowsy airport state), "YAY! I got moved to the extra legroom seats on the plane!" Next thing I know, my mom is texting me saying, "What are you talking about??!! Are you coming to see me??!!"
I couldn't talk my way out of this one lol. Juju picked us up from the airport and the birthday festivities began!
Our first stop was birthday outfit shopping. After browsing the old lady clothes at Macy's, we went to the tried and true Forevs 21! My mom was a little skeptical, but I found a super cute outfit for her.
Forever 21 on my 50th?! Yes, please!
My cousin, Lisa, used to manage at Pappadeaux--a DELISH cajun seafood place. She hooked us up in the private party room at the restaurant for my mom's parTAY. It was PERFECT!
Before we arrived, my mom's sister, Edy, decorated the table with Little Mermaid decor...a Juju staple.
Isn't her outfit way cute??

The lighting is beyond wack, but I love this picture!!
Lisa made that coconut pineapple cake from scratch for my mom!
We won't mention the details of this card...LOL.
B-day $$$!!!
Edy's dad, Ricki, bought my mom tickets to the RUSH concert--one of her favorite 80's rock bands.
One of the most special parts of my mom's b-day was this book my aunt made. Inside, were kind sentences (some people wrote paragraphs hehe) that family and close friends wrote about Julee. She LOVED it!
Siblings
Look how handsome Devon looks!!! He's the cute kid on the right.

One of my close childhood friends, Sarah, came over with her mom, Michele, to meet Jada! Sarah wasn't able to come to Jada's shower, so it was so fun catching up! She bought J that super cute stuffed animal for Valentine's Day.
Jada's "not impressed" face KILLS ME LOL!
First time in a high chair at Cheesecake Factory! She loved the independence! Jada also turned 7 months old while we were in Texas and started officially crawling that day with my mom!
We went to Brandon's high school basketball game. Seriously, it was one of the most intense sporting events I've been to! Kingwood won, yay!
We flew back to Cali on Valentine's Day. This was waiting for me on the counter. Matt cracks me up!
